High Desert Helpers, Inc. manages the 89.71-acre High Desert Park. The park provides beautiful views of the Bradshaw Mountains, the New River Mountains, and the mesas of the Agua Fria National Monument. Park visitors can take a scenic walk or hike on the nature trail, which ranges in difficulty from easy to moderate. For picnickers, there are covered ramadas with barbeque grills. Sports enthusiasts will enjoy the tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts, as well as the baseball diamond. There is also a jogging trail that encircles the park. A special event gazebo, clubhouse, and extensive children’s playground round out the park’s amenities.

A new children’s playground was installed in 2002 by a nationally certified company in accordance with NPSI safety guidelines. The crawl tubes include one section for 2-5 year olds and another section for ages 6-12. The equipment was paid for by a Heritage Fund Grant and administered by Yavapai County, with the help of High Desert Helpers, Inc.
The playground has a soft sandy surface, and it’s fenced and gated, with shaded picnic tables nearby. Perfect for children’s birthday parties, play dates, and family fun time! The baseball field is kept seeded with grass and the approaching driveway is paved. Cement posts and cable surround the entire park, soccer field, and volleyball court. Desert trees and shrubs placed around the park enhance its natural beauty. Since we are constantly adding things to make our “Desert Gem” a friendly, memorable place to visit, we hope you’ll stop by and check out the upgrades and enjoy the facilities.
